THE DO BETTER PLEDGE
For Boys
- I know who I am, my values and how I want to live.
- I will stop pretending I am okay when I am not.
- I will find someone I trust to talk to.
- I reject the idea that money or power makes me a real man.
- I will never post someone’s photos to embarrass or hurt them.
- I understand consent. It must be a clear yes. Not silence. Not maybe. Not pressure.
- I will never push, hit, grab or hurt a girl, woman or anyone from the LGBTQI+ community.
- I will speak up when someone is bullied or abused. Even when it is uncomfortable.
- I will sort out problems by talking, not fighting. My head and my heart, not my hands.
- I will treat girls, women and LGBTQI+ people as fully equal.
I pledge to be a good man - not because someone told me to, but because I choose to.
For Girls
- I know who I am, my values and how I want to live.
- I will stop pretending I am okay when I am not.
- I will find someone I trust to talk to.
- I will stop letting anyone tell me my worth is about how I look or how I serve others.
- I will never share another girl’s photos without permission.
- I understand consent. I will never let anyone pressure me to do something I do not want.
- My boundaries are my dignity. Saying no is not rude, it is strong.
- I will use my voice when I or another girl is disrespected, at school, online, anywhere.
- If someone hurts me, it is never my fault. Not because of what I wore or where I was.
- I will stop competing with other girls and start building them up. We are all on the same side.
I pledge to be a strong woman - not because someone told me to, but because I choose to.
TOGETHER WE PLEDGE TO…
- Respect boys who show their feelings.
- Respect girls who speak up and say no.
- Value kindness more than toughness.
- Value honesty more than being popular.
- Stand with people who choose to do right, even when it is hard.
